Adverse weather disrupts events in the U.S.

Following extreme heavy rain a number of events have been forced to cancel or been abandoned over the weekend including:* River Bank Bash, Des Moines – cancelled due to flooding.* Beach Glow music festival, Atlantic City – abandoned midway through Saturday afternoon due to safety concerns resulting from adverse weather.* Tall ships concert and fireworks, Philadelphia – event cancelled and fireworks re-scheduled due to rain heavy rain and flood warnings issued by the National Weather Service

More than 200 people injured at Taiwan water park after colored powder sprayed onto crowd ignites

A huge fireball tore through an 1,000 strong crowd at the water park in Taiwan after colored powder which was being sprayed onto party goers suddenly ignited, with flames engulfing people as they tried to escape. More than 200 people were taken to hospital after the blaze, with 80 in a serious condition. Miraculously no fatalities have been reported to date. This event is party of a traditional color festival of dance and music where people cover themselves in bright paint. These festivals have grown substantially in popularity over the past few years with events taking place world-wide.
